One thing we desperately need, and probably the most rewarding, is foster parents. You can save a life simply by opening your home to an animal in need. Once a new home is found, you will see the differences you have made for both the new adoptive family and the happy rescued animal. Fosters are needed for both dogs and cats. An old van or suburban can help to rescue and transport animals to adoptions or out of harm's way. We need land zoned for farm animals to build the sanctuary. If you can donate land, we can start today. Part of our mission is awareness. If you can sponsor a billboard for our cause, you can help us reach thousands. Cash donations work too. Most of our cash donations go to Vet bills and surgery for sick or injured animals. Volunteers are needed, especially veterinarians and vet techs. Doggie bathers are also welcome. Blankets and dog beds are a great gift any time of year. If you own a business that generates a lot of foot traffic, that may make a great location for a weekend pet adoption day once a month or, for the die-hards, once a week. You don't have to be a non-profit to start your own independent rescue group. You can organize a group of fosters, show animals at a pet store for an adoption day, and save lives. It's rewarding—trust me—and good Karma to boot! I saved 500 animals before I became non-profit. |
